Obeticholic Acid

Obeticholic acid Instruction

This drug is used alone or in combination to treat a specific liver disorder (primary biliary cholangitis - PBC). This disease slowly destroys the bile ducts in the liver. If the bile ducts are damaged, harmful substances can accumulate in the bile and leave scars on the liver. Obeticholic acid causes your liver to produce less bile and helps the bile pass out of the liver. Obeticholic acid may help slow the flare-up of primary biliary cholangitis and reduce symptoms such as fatigue, itching, abdominal pain, and dry eyes and mouth.

How to take obeticholic acid tablets
