Zipsydon 20 (Ziprasidone)
ZIPSYDON contains Ziprasidone which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics.
ZIPSYDON contains Ziprasidone which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics. It is used in the management of Schizophrenia (a mental disorder characterized by seeing, hearing and feeling things that does not exist, believing in something that do not exist, unusual suspicion, remaining absent, difficulty in being social, nervousness, depression and anxiety. Also, it is used for the management of manic or mixed episodes of moderate severity in bipolar disorder (in people of age 10 to 17 years). Mania is a disease that is characterized by elated behaviour, exaggerated self-esteem, increase in energy, decreased need for sleeping, lack of concentration or hyperactivity and repeated high risk-taking behaviour.
ZIPSYDON is not recommended for use in patients with heart diseases or those who recently had heart attack or heart rhythm problems. Before taking ZIPSYDON inform your doctor if you have any liver or blood clot problems (including family history), had fits, low-resting heart rate or salt depletion as a result of severe diarrhoea or vomiting.
ZIPSYDON should be used in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor. It is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor before taking ZIPSYDON if you are pregnant or breast feeding. ZIPSYDON should be used with caution in children (aged 10 -17 years) and elderly patients (above 65 years of age). Consult with your doctor before taking ZIPSYDON. The most common side effects of taking ZIPSYDON are sleepiness, headache and dizziness. Consult with your doctor if the symptoms do not improve.
